The online direct marketing software ELAINE already offers an extensive set of uni-directional and bi-directional interfaces for all profile, workflow, content and statistical data.<\/p>\n<p>As an extension of the existing web service, batch and database interfaces, ELAINE 4.2 now offers an additional high-performance Representational State Transfer (REST) interface for individual transactions. Real-time processing of individual transactions is highly important especially when linked to community and social networking systems.<\/p>\n<p>When exchanging datasets, the RESTful API offers speeds 25 times higher compared to SOAP. The new interface forms the perfect link between the procedural SOAP-API and the faster but list-based batch and database APIs. The flexible URI design, as well as the configurable return options, make its integration in different system environments easy.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to other features, the salutation concept was also extended in ELAINE 4.2. Salutations can now be created via a freely definable syntax and realised in any constructs.
