Technology, data, and emotion are merging to create a new era in marketing. Our latest infographic highlights five key facts that illustrate how artificial intelligence, personalization, and cross-channel strategies are shaping the customer experience. From AI-powered shopping assistants and automated content to email as the loyalty champion – these trends reveal what successful customer engagement looks like today.

Fact 1:
In the State of Martech Report 2025, 78.1% of marketers say they already use AI for content production – by far the most common use case. This is followed by target group segmentation (42.7%) and data analysis (38.5%). In addition, 87.5% of respondents report that they regularly use standalone AI assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) in their everyday marketing activities. The study concludes that AI is no longer an experiment, but an integral part of modern marketing strategies.

Fact 2:
In 2025, 42% of consumers prefer to be contacted by email when they regularly buy from a brand. Compared to 2020 (34%), this channel has grown significantly and has been one of the top three communication channels for years. Email also remains stable at a high level for potential new purchases, at 26%. In short: despite the growing variety of channels, email continues to impress with its reliability, personal approach, and clear user preference.

Fact 3:
The DHL E-Commerce Trends Report 2025 shows that seven out of ten shoppers want AI-supported shopping features. AI shopping assistants, virtual try-ons, and voice-controlled product searches are particularly in demand—features that customers perceive as offering real added value. Customers increasingly expect personalized, interactive, and assisted shopping experiences.

Fact 4:
The latest “Email Marketing Benchmarks 2025” study by absolit Consulting uncovers a concerning trend: 43% of companies make new subscribers wait over 30 days for their first email. This delayed initial contact can significantly impact customer retention and make it harder to build strong relationships. The study recommends sending the welcome email promptly to increase open and click rates and make the most of that first touchpoint.
